The Sun Had His Hat on for Sports Day!

The weather was kind to all at Bluecoat C of E Primary as children eagerly and enthusiastically took part in the annual Sports Day event.  There seemed to be an increased level of competition this year with more points up for grabs for the House Teams.

There were a whole host of events including javelin, hurdles, sprinting, shot put, handball and the tennis ball throw. There was a fantastic sense of team work and camaraderie amongst the House Teams and the level of effort that the children gave was admirable.  It was wonderful to have parents and carers cheering from the sidelines, giving that extra bit of encouragement! Thank you to all who were able to come along to support the activities.

The event could not have happened without the support of staff and pupils from years 2 to 6, and also the help given by pupils from GTS.  Mr Tennant would like to express special thanks to his class 5T who have been helping over the past few days with all the organising and preparation.

With every competition, there has to be a winner…and the results for this year are as follows:

1st Place: Tavy
2nd Place: Taw
3rd Place: Tamar
4th Place: Torridge

Congratulations to the winners, and to all the competitors – as without everyone participating, there is no competition!

Thanks to Kelvyn Bond for capturing the day’s events on camera!
