Admissions

The school admits children into the Foundation Stage Reception Class in the September of the academic year in which they will turn five years old. You will be invited in to visit the school once admission has been confirmed and the class teacher will arrange to make a home visit.

Parents, carers and children are offered an “Induction to School” programme during which the organisation, administration and routines of the school are explained.Parents and carers will have opportunities to find out about the kind of learning experiences their child will meet. They will be informed about how they can get involved in school and also receive ideas on how to support their child at home.

During induction the children have the opportunity to spend time in their classroom, to meet their classmates and get to know the adults with whom they will be working. Induction takes place at the end of the term prior to the child starting school.

The school follows the Devon County guidelines for admissions and our Admissions Policy is available for download on our Policies page.
