Outdoor Learning: Forest School

Year Four

Year Four enjoyed the team building challenges during their Forest School sessions this term. Here they are playing the ‘Cross the Swamp Challenge’. The first group to get their whole team across the swamp, without touching the ground, was the winner.

Nursery Bike Day

Nursery recently enjoyed a bike day. They made a carwash and garage where they could get their bikes mended. They had to obey the stop and start signs, and stop at the zebra crossing. Rachael was the police officer and caught a few children for speeding. We hope they paid their fines!

Reception Children Visit Tamar Trading

As part of their ‘Build, Construct, Create’ topic, the Reception children went to visit Tamar Trading. They were able to watch as the paint machine mixed the colour that they had chosen. A Top Visit from Mrs Recycle!

At the end of November, Mrs Recycle (Cathy) came into our school to visit classes 3G and 6M. She focused on encouraging the children to be aware of how they can recycle and reuse. They learnt all about the impact of dumping recyclable waste into our landfills and how it effects our landscapes, wildlife and health. They were each given

It’s Harvest Time in Reception

Farmer Harris came to explain the importance of harvest on the farm to our Reception children. He explained about storing food for the winter and the uses of wheat and maize. They saw a real tractor and looked closely at a range of products from the farm like silage, cow cake, a maize plant, wheat and turnips!
